1. Eligibility
  • Open to students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and innovators of all backgrounds.

  • Teams can consist of 2–6 members. Individual participants may be grouped into teams by the organizers.

  • Participants must register officially before the deadline to be eligible.

2. Team Formation
  • Teams must be formed and finalized by the start of the hackathon.

  • Collaboration across disciplines (tech, design, social sciences, etc.) is strongly encouraged.

3. Project Scope
  • Solutions must address flood-related challenges in Readiness, Response, or Recovery.

  • Projects must be original. Existing projects may be used only if significant new work is developed during the hackathon.

  • Plagiarism or copying existing solutions without credit will lead to disqualification.

4. Development Rules
  • All work must be done during the hackathon timeframe. Preparatory research and idea discussions before the event are allowed.

  • Teams may use open-source tools, publicly available datasets, and licensed APIs.

  • Any third-party assets used (code, designs, datasets) must be properly credited.

5. Submissions
  • Each team must submit:

    1. A working prototype/demo (tech or non-tech)

    2. A short pitch deck or presentation explaining the solution

    3. Documentation describing how the solution addresses the problem

6. Judging Criteria

Projects will be judged on:

  • Relevance: How well it addresses flood-related challenges

  • Impact: Potential social, environmental, and economic benefits

  • Innovation: Creativity and uniqueness of the solution

  • Feasibility: Practicality and scalability

  • Presentation: Clarity and persuasiveness of the pitch

7. Intellectual Property (IP)
  • Participants retain ownership of their work.

  • By participating, teams grant organizers permission to showcase their projects for promotional, educational, or awareness purposes.

  • Any further collaboration or commercialization must be mutually agreed upon between participants and relevant stakeholders.

8. Code of Conduct
  • Be respectful, inclusive, and professional at all times.

  • Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Follow venue guidelines and respect equipment and materials provided.

9. Prizes and Recognition
  • Prizes will be awarded based on judges’ decisions.

  • Organizers may also provide incubation, mentorship, or support for promising projects.

10. Organizer Rights

 

  • Organizers reserve the right to modify rules, judging criteria, or schedules if necessary.

  • Decisions of the judges and organizing team will be final.
